Kelly Thompson has a fancy degree in Sequential Art from The Savannah College of Art & Design and is the winner of two Eisner Awards for BLACK WIDOW (2021) and IT’S JEFF (2024).

Thompson has an extensive credits list — regularly working for major comics publishers Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, IDW, Boom, Dynamite, and Archie — including a record-breaking sales run on ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN and a 50-issue run on CAPTAIN MARVEL. She has also published two novels: THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING (2012) and STORYKILLER (2014) as well as several creator-owned comics: THE CULL, BLACK CLOAK, HEART IN A BOX, and MEGA PRINCESS.

She is currently writing the monthly comics ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN and BIRDS OF PREY for DC, as well as BLACK CLOAK for Image, and IT’S JEFF for Marvel. Thompson lives in Portland Oregon with her boyfriend, the two greatest cats to ever live, and the dream of one day having her own swimming pool. She is managed by Julie Bloom at Art/Work Entertainment and represented by VERVE.
