BIO & CONTACT

Kelly Thompson's ambitions are eclipsed only by her desire to exist entirely in pajamas. Fortunately pajamas and writers go hand in hand frequently enough.

Kelly has a fancy degree in Sequential Art from The Savannah College of Art & Design and has published two novels THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING (2012) and STORYKILLER (2014) as well as the creator-owned works BLACK CLOAK (2022 - 2024) and THE CULL (2023 - 2024) from Image Comics, the graphic novel HEART IN A BOX (2015) from Dark Horse Comics and the middle grade comic book MEGA PRINCESS (2017) from Boom Comics.

She is the winner of two Eisner Awards for BLACK WIDOW (2021) and IT’S JEFF (2024). Kelly is currently writing the monthly comics ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN and BIRDS OF PREY for DC, as well as the second volume of BLACK CLOAK (Image), and the IT’S JEFF digital comic for Marvel.

Kelly currently lives in Portland Oregon with her boyfriend and the two greatest cats to ever live. Please buy all her stuff so that she can buy (and wear) more pajamas.

Kelly is managed by JULIE BLOOM at ART/WORK ENT. and represented by VERVE.

For most comics inquiries please contact Kelly directly via email: 1979semifinalist@gmail.com

The WORK page has an exhaustive bibliography of her published work, and if you want to stay in the know about future projects you can subscribe to a newsletter on the NEWS page.

Kelly Thompson hates photos, but here’s one!
